Training scholarships available for job seekers

Training programs exist for job seekers interested in re-entering the workforce. Mobile Works partners with local training institutions to provide skills training for high wage, high demand, high growth jobs in fields such as aviation, maritime, transportation, healthcare, information technology, advanced manufacturing and construction. "Our partnership with area training institutions will ensure that dislocated workers, the underemployed and the unemployed seeking to get trained in a new skill set will be afforded this opportunity at little or no cost," states Sydney Raine, Mobile Works President. Applicants interested in receiving a skills training scholarship through Mobile Works must meet the following criteria: · receive admission to program of preference · meet eligibility requirements ·complete the workkeys assessment ·complete degree in 2 years or less Approved programs include: Bishop State Community College: Air Conditioning/Refrigeration, Auto Body, Auto Mechanic, Cabinet Making/Carpentry, Civil Engineering, Diesel Mechanic, Electrical Technician, Electronic Technician, Truck Driving CDL, Nursing (LPN and RN), Machine Tool Technology, Masonry and Plumbing; Fortis College: Medical Office Specialist; Cardiac and Vascular Institute of Ultrasound:Cardiac Ultrasound Certificate, Vascular Ultrasound Certificate, Cardiac and Vascular Ultrasound Certificate; Enterprise-Ozark Community College: Airframe and Power Plant Technician (Aviation Mechanic); Faulkner State Community College:Dental Assisting, Office Administration/Medical Secretary; Premier Driving Academy: CDL Certificate; University of Mobile: Registered Nursing; University of South Alabama: Nursing (BSN); Virginia College -Mobile:Surgical Technician.
