Write and Update your resume to fit the job opening. Keep your resume current and change your resume to reflect assets and skills you bring to each job.

Learn basic computer use. Increasing your computer skills boosts your opportunities. Basic computer classes are available at no cost at the Alabama Career Center (ACC).

Visit www. joblink.alabama.gov. JobLink is a no fee job match and workplace information service for jobseekers provided by the Alabama Industrial Relations Department (Employment Office) . Jobseekers can search for jobs, create a resume, contact employers and establish a free e-mail account. JobLink also provides links to other career and job search websites. Computers and assistance are available in the resource room of the ACC for jobseekers.

Visit your local state employment office (Alabama Career Center). A variety of services and programs are available to jobseekers.

Attend area career and job fairs. The Alabama Career Center has employers recruiting at the site almost daily. Come in, dress properly and be ready to be interviewed.

Networking- Not all jobs openings are advertised. In fact, over half of all employees get their jobs through networking according to BH Careers International. Talk with friends and family about your job search.
